You’ve met Amber before. At the begging of 2017 we gave you peek into her LAP-BAND journey and today, Amber takes the time to share a piece of her personal knowledge and advice on her LAP-BAND system. With Dr. McEwen and his team, Amber can proudly say she’s lost 77 pounds and happily continues to work hard towards her goals!
- What has been your biggest change since lap band surgery?
My mindset has totally changed. I used to live to eat and now my life is so much less revolved around food!
- What has been your biggest non-scale victory? (less medications, not needing a seat-belt extender on planes, more energy, etc.)
am off 1 of my diabetes meds because my blood sugar average (Hemoglobin A1c) has improved so much and my Dr is planning on taking me off of the other diabetes med soon. I am also off my blood pressure meds! I actually enjoy taking the stairs now because I have so much more energy.
- What advice would you give someone thinking about lap band surgery
would tell someone who is thinking about a lap band to be patient with themselves. These changes take months to implement and you have to give yourself time to adapt – don’t expect everything to change all at once!
