It has been a long and rewarding journey for Michelle. There were difficult times and also great ones but through it all her consistency and determination to obtain and keep a healthy lifestyle has enabled Michelle to have long-term success. Since her initial visit with Dr. McEwen, Michelle has lost 125 pounds and wants to share a little bit of what she’s learned.
- What has been the biggest change since your LAP-BAND surgery?
My biggest changes has been my eating habits and exercise. Today, I’m choosing healthier options and am exercising every day. - What advice would you give to other LAP-BAND patients?
The advice I could give others is to be consistent. Make sure you get into a routine and stick with it.
3. What would you say is your non scale victory?
My non scale victory is that I’m off all my diabetes medications. I also can now fly on an airplane without the seatbelt extender. One of the reasons I chose the LAP-BAND was because of flying. I hated flying because of having to ask for the seatbelt extender and how uncomfortable I was while flying.
