On the year mark of her first visit to our office, Kim has shown the power of commitment, passion and dedication. She took her health into her own hands, researched her options and walked into our office with questions and ready to learn about what her life would look like with a healthy lifestyle. Today, Kim stands 50lbs lighter, happier, healthier and surrounded with a team of people that support her new lifestyle and health. Read some words from Kim below:

Why did you get a lap band?
I was feeling miserable and unhealthy. I was no longer sleeping well and began having trouble breathing doing even simple things like taking a walk or playing with grandkids. Both of my parents died of cancer and struggled with other health issues and I did not want to walk the same path. I knew to lower my risk of diabetes and to be there for my grandchildren (2 on the way) I had to do something about my health. The lap band was less invasive and less extreme and I did a lot of research before committing. I am so happy with my progress and weight loss of 50 lbs.!
What has been your biggest health improvements?
I am able to walk further, have less trouble breathing, less joint pain, more self-confidence, and much more energy!
Advice?
I would tell those thinking about lap band to do a lot of research and to utilize the resources they have within the office like the FB page and staff. I wish I could attend the support groups more but the one I did attend featured 2 patients who told their weight loss stories and it was so motivating!
